Preventing and responding to violence, exploitation, and abuse is essential to ensuring children's rights to survival, development and well-being. The vision and approach of V Save a Life Foundation is to create a protective environment where children are free from violence, exploitation, and unnecessary separation from family; and where laws, services, behaviours and practices minimize children's vulnerability, address known risk factors, and strengthen children's resilience.

As per the data of children taken from reputed websites, around the world, over 10 million children under the age of five die yearly, and the world's poorest countries continue to bear the burden of these deaths. Levels of under-5 mortality vary widely across countries – from 4 to over 280 deaths per 1000 live births. About 41 per cent of under-5 deaths occur in sub-Saharan Africa and another 34 per cent in South Asia. Child health has been high on the international agenda for over two decades.

In 2018, 6.2 million children and young adolescents died, mostly from preventable causes. Children under 5 accounted for 5.3 million deaths – nearly half of whom were newborn babies. In low-income countries, the leading causes of death are diarrhoea, pneumonia, measles, malaria, HIV/AIDS, and deaths among neonates, asphyxia, pre-term delivery, sepsis and tetanus. The major underlying cause of death is undernutrition, including micronutrient deficiencies, among children younger than five years, which is a determinant in more than 50% of deaths.

V Save a Life Foundation works to end preventable maternal, newborn and child deaths by providing all possible support where we can reach our hands.
